Ico For Photoshop Mac

Use Photoshop’s Open command (File menu) to open.ICO and.CUR files (which will now appear in the file browser) Use Photoshop’s Save command to create.ICO and.CUR files.

Generating a FAVICON (.ICO) file with Adobe Photoshop CS5, CS6, and CC (Creative Cloud) requires a simple plugin.

First check, if it's installed properly by looking for 'ICO (Windows Icon)' under Photoshop's 'About Plug-in' menu (on Windows, look under 'Help'). If you can see it, then it's installed. You may not see it listed in 'save as', if you are trying to save.psd as.ico. Most plugins below are usable with all versions of Photoshop under Mac OS X, 9 and earlier, and Windows (if you need a version that's not here, please write to us). Should also work with Elements, AfterEffects, Premiere, PhotoDeluxe, Corel PhotoPaint, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks, Painter, Photo Impact etc. ( incomplete list ).

Download the CS5/CS6 version of the ICO Format plugin from here: http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/product/ICOFormat#icoformat

You’re looking for this (or something newer):

Open the DMG file you have downloaded.

Install the .plugin file from the DMG, by copying it to the following folder:

(Replace CC with CS6 or CS5 if that’s the version of Photoshop you have)

Start or restart Photoshop.

Create your image. Make sure it is a perfect square, and resize it to a maximum of 256×256 pixels BEFORE you try to save it as an .ICO file. If you’re making a FAV ICON for a web page you’d normally go with 16×16 or 32×32 pixels.
