This tutorial contains instructions to change Office product key in Office 2013/2016/2019, without having to uninstall and re-install the Office suite. In some cases there is the need to change the Office product key, especially if you 're prompted to change the product key or if you have installed a pirated Office version.

Method 1. Change Office License from the File menu.
The most easy method to change the Office License key, is to open any Office application and then to go to File menu > Account and to click Change License at the right pane.
Method 2. Change/Update Office 2019,206, 2013 key from Programs & Features.
The next method to change the Office product key, is to open 'Programs and Features' in Control Panel and then after highlighting the Office suite in the list of installed programs, to click Change.
In the next screen select Enter a Product key and click Continue.
In the next screen type the new Office product key and click Continue.
Method 3. Change Office Product key from Command line.
If you cannot change/update the Office license key by using the above methods, then follow the instructions below to change the Office 2019, 2016 or 2013 key from the command prompt:
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator. To do that:
- At the search box type: command prompt or cmd
- Right-click at Command Prompt result and select Run As Administrator.
2. At command prompt, give the corresponding command below (according to the installed Windows* and Office** version) and press Enter, to change the Office product key: ***

1. To find out the Windows version, right click on My Computer (or at 'My PC') icon and click Properties.
2. To find out the installed Office version, open any Office application (e.g. Word) and from the File menu click Account (or Help). Then click the About Word button at the right pane.
3. At the above command replace the XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX with your product key.

After you purchase software, the download will be shown in your Order history. To find a specific download, sign in to the Order history page with the Microsoft account you used to make the purchase. Find the software, and then select Product key/Install.

If you're looking for download and installation instructions for a specific product, see the following sections.
Windows 10
Go to Order history, find Windows 10, and then select Product key/Install. Microsoft office home and student 2016 for mac.
Select Copy to copy the key, and then select Install.
Select Download tool now, and follow the instructions.
A wizard will help you through the steps to install. You can install Windows 10 on a PC or a Mac.
Microsoft apps and games, including Xbox
Find apps and games you haven't downloaded or installed in your Order history.
On Windows 10
To find apps and games on your PC:
On your taskbar, select the Microsoft Store icon, then select More info up by your account picture.
Select My Library. Any app or game with a Download icon next to it hasn't been downloaded yet. Select the Download icon to download and install the app or game.
On Xbox One
To find games, apps, add-ons, or content packs that you downloaded but haven't installed:
Press the Xbox button on your controller.
Select My games & apps > Ready to install.
Select the game, then select Install.
For game add-ons that aren't installed, select Games, choose a game, press the Menu button, and then select Manage game.

Microsoft 365
Microsoft Office Mac Key
Microsoft 365 purchased online directly from Microsoft
Case for 15 mac pro. If you buy Microsoft 365 as a digital download from us, there is no product key. Follow the below instructions to install it.
Go to Services & subscriptions. Sign in if prompted.
Find your Microsoft 365 purchase, and select Install.
The wizard installs Office in the background. You can keep working and even start using Office before installation is complete, but make sure your PC stays on and connected.
You can also install Microsoft 365 by going to the confirmation email for your order and selecting Install Office.
Microsoft 365 purchased as a pre-paid card from a retail store
If you have an unopened pre-paid card for Microsoft 365, follow the instructions on the back of the card to reveal the product key and redeem and install Microsoft 365.
If you have already redeemed Microsoft 365 from your pre-paid card, follow these instructions to install Office.
Go to Services & subscriptions. Sign in if prompted.
Find your Microsoft 365, and select Install.
The wizard installs Office in the background. You can keep working and even start using Office before installation is complete, but make sure your PC stays on and connected.
Office 2016
Go to Order history. Sign in if prompted.
Find your Office 2016, select Product key/install, and follow the instructions.
Select Install Office, and follow the instructions.

If the above steps don't work, in the confirmation email for your order, select Install Office.
Visual Studio Professional 2017
Go to Order history, find Visual Studio Professional 2017, and then select Product key/Install.
Select Copy to copy the product key, and then select Install.
Visual Studio will open to install the software. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Visual Studio Subscription
Go to Order history, find Visual Studio Subscription, and then select Product key/Install.
Select Copy to copy the product key, and then select Install.
Visual Studio will open Visual Studio Activation.
Enter your subscription activation token, and then select Activate.

If you don't see Product key/Install for your product in Order history, here are a few things to try:
If you only see Install, select it to start your download and installation. The app or game might not have a product key.
If you don't see Install, select the product name. It will take you to the product page. If the button that was previously labeled Buy is now Install, select it to automatically download and install your app or game.
If you bought boxed software that we shipped to you, Order history can't store the product key until you install the software for the first time. Follow the installation instructions that came with the boxed software.
Some apps or games won't store their product key in Order history. If your product key is on a card or the back of the box, keep it somewhere safe.
