Here’s a brief tutorial to help you enable scan options in the HP Officejet 6500A Plus All-in-one printer. The steps should work for most of the latest HP web-enabled printers.
Note: HP sent me a review unit of the above printer, and the steps are Windows-only. If you need help setting up the printer, refer to our HP printer set up post.
Provided below is a procedure for the installation of the Officejet 6500 wireless printer and the other Office instruments. You need to remember that Network access is necessary to make the soft wherein the printer functional. The procedures below are for the MAC computers and the Windows PC. In our speed testing, we found the Officejet 6500A to be an average performer on the Mac, with text speed of 6 pages per minute, 1.5 pages per minute in our PDF test, and 0.4 pages per minute in.
Step 1: Go to Control Panel –> Device and Printers and double-click on the HP printer icon. You should find Scanner Actions there. Under that, click on Activate Scan to Computer.
Step 2: Well, that’s about it! You will be greeted with a box mentioning that the printer is ready to scan documents to your computer.
